Inquiry #5

This week I spent a lot of time looking into the Linkou (Lin-Koh) District in Taipei, where I will be living and teaching for 7 weeks.

The Linkou District has a population of about 130,000 and has a relatively large foreign english-speaking community. When I am there, it will be very rainy and very hot. In May, the Linkou District typically has temperatures around 30 degrees celsius and frequent days of lightning and rain. Humidity also tends to be quite high.

I spoke with a Taiwanese friend the other day and he helped me practice saying “Thank you” in Chinese.

谢谢 / Xièxiè

My friend said that it is very important that I say this a lot! I plan on doing so.
